Overview and Link

This article from the Australian Journal of Education looks at the impact of the introduction of two curriculum documents (Australian Curriculum and the National Quality Framework) on the pedagogical practices of teachers, specifically those who adopt a play pedagogy.

It is in three sections: a literature review, an in-depth examination of the research study undertaken by the authors, and recommendations.

I want to read this article

If the article is too long, or you didn’t find the time to read it, I’ve done the heavy lifting for you if you’re a paid subscriber:

  • Get access to a factual summary of the key points and quotes (TL/DR), as well as my key takeaways and points worth considering (KT/PC) - this is also provided as a pdf so you can save it for easy access later on.

  • Take the opportunity to comment: offer and discuss the thoughts, ideas and inspirations this article gives you. I’m keen to discuss the “double burden” placed on kids by academic pushdown mentioned in the article.

The SMATA Bulletin is a reader-supported publication. To unlock the TL/DR and KT/PC sections, the downloadable pdf, and join the conversation, become a paid subscriber.
