Pedagogical possibilities
If the key to seeing what a kid can truly do is to get involved with what they’re doing through participation and observation, then we’re in a world of exciting pedagogical possibilities.
And those possibilities lie in pedagogies that foster kids doing meaningful stuff, where they show and grow their best selves, in pedagogies that enable encounters: with others, with ideas, with themselves.
These kinds of pedagogical approaches are anchored in relationships.
Play, inquiry, maker … these are not nice tack-ons when we’ve got time. They are essential because they help us get close to the truth about each kid.
Imagine the possibilities if this was the point of school.
