I smiled when I saw the question on the slideshow - What do writers do?
I was even happier when I heard the teacher say to a student, after reading something he’d written, Pretend you’re an author similar to the ones you like reading - what would you do next?
The things we say go a long way to influencing how a learner approaches learning. This teacher’s response was a signal to the student - don’t do writing, be a writer.
It’s a powerful shift.
